Dear Neighbor,

We are an autonomous and self-governing body of baptized believers. We are not part of any denomination, conference, association, or hierarchy. We do have a "loose-knit" fellowship with thousands of independent Baptist churches across America and around the world. Contrary to popular belief, Baptist is not a denomination but rather a set of beliefs. In other words, Baptist describes our doctrines and beliefs and not an ecclesiastical organization. We simply adhere to the beliefs and teachings as outlined in the New Testament and extending back to the earliest churches. Therefore, we are neither part of a denomination nor are we Protestant. Church history reveals a continuously unbroken line of churches, with similar beliefs as ours, outside of the church of Rome since the time of Christ. Thus, we are merely following and adhering to the doctrines and beliefs "which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3). Those holding to these beliefs have, in recent times, come to be called Baptist.

Karen and I would like to invite you on a spiritual journey as we study the Bible each week. On Sundays, we hold services at Valley Vista High School and each Tuesday night, we meet for a time of Bible study and fellowship at 16803 W. Tonbridge St. in Surprise. I hope you will take this opportunity to begin an exciting journey with us where you will grow spiritually and gain insight and encouragement for daily living.

Jeffrey L. Clark
